On February 24, Dr. Markus Weber, President and CEO of Zeiss Group Medical, Mr. Maximilian Foerst, President and CEO of Zeiss Greater China, and the management team of Zeiss visited Zhongshan Ophthalmic Center (ZOC), Sun Yat-sen University.

In the morning, the two parties held an exchange meeting at Zhujiang New Town Premises of ZOC. Professor Liu Yizhi, the director of ZOC, Professor Yuan Jin, deputy director of ZOC and the representatives from the International Office, Ophthalmic Engineering Research Center, Laser Refractive Surgery Center and other departments of ZOC attended the meeting. Director Liu Yizhi briefly introduced ZOC, covering its organizational structure and progress in medical treatment, teaching, scientific research, blindness prevention and international cooperation. During the meeting, the two sides reviewed the past cooperation in the field of laser myopia surgery, myopia prevention and control, and look forward to an in-depth multi-dimensional cooperation in physician education, clinical trial, and research cooperation. Both sides expressed that they will work together and continue to deepen the mechanism of cooperation to contribute to the precise and innovative resolutions for the patients and to the development of ophthalmology.

Accompanied by Professor Yuan Jin, the Zeiss management team also visited the Myopia Clinic, Departments of Retina (Surgical) , Cataracts , Glaucoma, Corneal , Ocular Surface & Tears Film Disease, Pediatric Ophthalmology, and Refractive Surgery, respectively. During the visit, the Zeiss team communicated and exchanged views with the clinical specialists in related fields to a deepen understanding on the clinical procedures, and patients’ needs.
