On June 12, 2023, the Minister for Health and Medical Service of the Republic of Kiribati, Hon Dr. Tinte Itinteang, and his seven-member delegation visited Zhongshan Ophthalmic Center (ZOC). The Deputy Director of ZOC, Professor Liang Xiaoling, Assistant Director of ZOC, Professor Liang Lingyi, Professor Chen Weirong and the heads of relevant departments had joined the reception and the discussion on potential collaboration.

Professor Liang Xiaoling introduced an overview of the construction and development of the ZOC, and Professor Chen Weirong introduced her visit to 2019 visit to Kiribati. The delegation visited the ophthalmology museum, cataract clinic, fundus clinic, fundus examination center, pediatric clinic and clinical research center.

Hon Dr. Tinte Itinteang expressed his sincere admiration for the high quality development achievements of the ZOC. He hoped that the two sides could strengthen cooperation and exchange with joint effort.
